L’articolo che linko è un semplice saluto di fine/inizio anno che parla di commit digest di KDE (a proposito, vi consiglio di seguirli) che non contengono mai niente di nuovo a parte la solita valanga di novità :D
Oltre ai cambiamenti nell’svn di KDE una cosa mi ha lasciato di stucco: in una settimana hanno contribuito DUECENTOSETTANTASETTE sviluppatori! E la media normale si aggira sempre attorno a 250… Sono numeri incredibili.
Check the commit digest from the 23th and look at the statistics. First of all, over 900 bugs fixed. Good news for the stability of the KDE 42 release. And second, over 270 programmers added their code to the repository that week. I’m not such a SVN-statistics-expert like that weird brittish guy, but I believe we have a record. Not in terms of lines of code, we often cross the 9500-lines-modified-per-week mark, but looking back a few digests I never saw more than 260 people commit in one week. As Paul’s green blobs show, not everybody commits each week and this high number could be a coincidence. I think it’s not. As Tom Albers already noted, we’ve giving out SVN accounts like they’re cookies. Delicious cookies for which you only had to proove you can write decent code & be a decent person.

Sì è sbalorditivo ed incoraggiante. Noto però mestamente la delusione delle ultime distro uscite, purtroppo nessuna esclusa. Mandriva, OpenSuSe, Ubuntu, Kubuntu e derivate non hanno ricevuto recensioni tanto positive neppure dai loro aficionados.
Mi spiace notare come il mondo Linux non abbia saputo “approfittare” del fiasco di Vista, dopo il grosso traino dovuto a Compiz. Spero che il fermento attorno a KDE4 si concretizzi sul serio prima dell’uscita di Windows 7, altrimenti sarà difficile che possa far tornare sui loro passi utenti delusi.
E non dimentichiamo che secondo AARON SEIGO
ci sarà presto un annuncio sbalorditivo.

Il record di 277 è di poco superiore al precedente che risaliva a qualche mese prima. Viceversa nell’ultimo commit-digest il record è stato nuovamente polverizzato: 297!

Credo comunque non sia destinato a durare molto visto l’effervescenza che si vede anche sul Planet (il post più vecchio risale a ieri).
