Boy, I wish I’d been at Gartner’s Symposium ITxpo in Orlando, Fla. this year. That way I could heard with my own ears, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer tell an audience of high-level business people that if they want to wait for Windows 7 to switch from XP, instead of going to Vista, “They certainly can.” Mind you, this was at the same show, where earlier, Gartner analyst Yvonne Genovese had tore into Ballmer like a hurricane saying she had installed Vista for her daughter — and two days later went right back to using XP .

questi “high-level business people” dovrebbero fare un esame di coscienza e cercare di capire perchè continuano ad essere win-dipendenti…….
certo, potete aspettare che vi rifiliamo un altra patacca e sperare di digerirla meglio!!queste erano le reali parole che dovevano sentire da quel primate!

Io verificherei quale delle 2 fonti è corretta, ma pare alquanto strano che Ballmer abbia CONSIGLIATO di attendere Windows 7… non trovate anche voi?

Beh a me sembra molto chiaro. Cito dallo stesso articolo di punto informatico e della mia fonte, con la frase originale:

But even as Ballmer defended Vista’s first two years in the market, claiming that it has 180 million users, he seemed to understand that companies might decide to skip the OS and move straight from Windows XP to Windows 7. “If people want to wait, they certainly can,” he said.

Anche se Ballmer ha difeso i primi due anni di Vista sul mercato, rivendicando 180 milioni di utenti, è sembrato capire che le aziende potrebbero decidere di saltare questa versione e passare direttamente da Windows XP a Windows 7. “Se la gente vuole aspettare, può certamente farlo”, ha detto. Ovviamente non è che adesso Ballmer si suicidi… mi pare ovvio, ma è interessante vedere che sia messo di fronte al fatto di dover trattare l’argomento “Saltiamo Vista e aspettiamo il prossimo, grazie”. E grazie a te per aver chiesto il chiarimento :)

Balmer non poteva certo dire: “in culo a Vista”… ma probabilmente l’avrà pensato e la sua frase “diplomatica” sembra sottintenderlo :D
